Related to the assassination of Civil Rights Activist and Political Philosopher Martin Luther King Jr, according to eye witnesses they stated that he was shot and killed while he was standing on the balcony of his room on the second floor at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. 

Martin Luther King Jr was 39 years at the time of his death. 

From investigations, the shooter was identified as Ray and nabbed and was sentenced to 99 years in prison, of which he died 29 years into his sentence due to health complications. 


According to National Archives Records Administration, about 99 percent of the case files have been released by the federal government to the public awaiting the release of the 1%.

Donald Trump signed in court to release the remaining files related to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr making the investigation complete.
