Sad Death of OAA ’24 Members Davida Asante and Lilian Akorli
The members of the Old Achimotan Association (OAA ‘24) together with the wider achimota community mourn the loss of their dearly beloved members Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli of Stopford House. These talented students lost their lives due to a road accident on the 7th of March 2025.
The accident happened on the Achimota Highway around 11:30 PM. Davida and Lilian were coming back from the annual Bonfire Celebration at Achimota School and were heading back to the University of Professional Studies Accra when the accident occurred. Both of them were hit while crossing the highway by a black Toyota Corolla whose driver was in no mood to stop.
Good Samaritans immediately took them to the nearest hospital where they arrived around 12:02 AM on the 8th of March 2025. After trying his best through medical intervention, he pronounced Davida Asante Boateng dead around 4:00 AM. Lilian Akorli died later in the morning after putting a good fight too.
At OAA ’24, the members join in mourning and offer their deepest condolences to the family and relatives of Davida and Lilian. We shall always try to give all the possible support to the families and friends during this hard period and will try to find ways to always cherish their memories.
The association will make new announcements in the case that fresh information relevant to the accident arises.
